Hire Me!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It has been a month now after i graduated. I have not been to anywhere and have not found myself a job. However, i have attended an interview and have turned the job down too. Let me explain why....

Few weeks back, while i was browsing through some job advertisements advertised on jobstreet.com, i came across this company A. The job sounds challenging to me and so i visited their website before i called up to make an appointment for an interview (It was stated on the advertisement that we should initiate by giving them a call if we want to make an appointment for an interview). When my called was answered, i asked the HR if they are still expecting more interviewees. At the other end, she told me that that day was the last day for interviews and asked me if i could make it for an interview at 7.30pm? I was very excited and i considered myself lucky that day cause it was the very first interview i got throughout the week.

Therefore, without wasting any time, i got myself prepared....print out my resumes, got myself a pair of shoes and went to photostate my certs. I reached the office half an hour early to avoid the traffic jam. To cut the story short, it took me quite sometime to figure that there is something unusual about the company. We did a group interview and then we did an individual one. During the individual interview, they did not ask me much about myself. Instead, they talked more about themselves and keep asking if i am interested to join them.

Later on, they came out with some stories (not gonna give the details here) and told me that i will have to pay a deposit of RM2600 before i start. At that particular moment, i somehow felt that i was conned. I did not turn down their offer on the spot as i wanted to know more. Before i left the room, the interviewer asked me a final question, "So, when do you think you can pay the deposit?" I was like, "Ermmm...i thought there will be the third interview before i know if i am hired. So when do you think i should bring the deposit??" The interviewer quickly cover up his mistake by saying, "Oh, dont worry, you can bring the deposit along when you come for the next interview cause you will know whether you are hired on the spot and you can pay us the deposit after that". And so, i thanked him and left the office.

Deep down inside me, i was feeling very awkward about the whole thing. First of all, i want a job that can earn me some money and not a job for me to spend my money. Secondly, i dont think i can trust them. So, when they finally called me for the next interview, i immediately turn them down without any hesitation.

Lesson learned: Be very careful when you apply for a job with an unknown company.

even so if it is mlm company or network marketing company, if we pay for something, they will give us the product worth the price we pay for. And MLM company never have interview. So this company is crap.

wah. i have never heard of a job that you have to put down a deposit in order to get hired. weird. somemore they were pushing for it. scary man. did you ask them the purpose of the deposit ? the company's purpose of collecting this money ? you should write to newspaper .. and make a 'you're confused' comment (not complain lttter).

dannyfoo: Some sort of challenging training programme....and yes....that's why i feel so awkward about the whole thing.

acrix: That's why i will never ever apply for any unknown companies unless i do my homework (do some research).

surfnux: Luckily that person who interviews me doesn't really know how to talk. Else...i might have fall for it!!

ray7: Thanks for dropping by.

patrick: Haha....good idea and yes...they made up a story and told me the reason for them to collect the deposit (wouldn't want to specify those details here)....but i find it sooooo unreasonable for them to do so. Even the guy that got into the interview before me has quit.
